Day of silence in the Republic of Moldova

Moldova will elect a new Parliament on 30 November. Today is the day of silence when any campaigning activities or meetings with the electorate are illegal. The ballots will include 26 options: 20 parties, one political movement, one electoral block and 4 independent candidates. 3000 local and over 800 international observers are monitoring the elections. The IPA CIS observer mission includes 31 members: CIS MPs and senior officials, IPA CIS Secretary General Alexey Sergeev, staff members of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat and IPA CIS IIMDD.
