Formation of the IPA CIS Observer Team at the Presidential Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan is being completed

IPA CIS Council Secretariat is completing the formation of the international observer team to monitor the preparation and holding of the early Presidential Elections in the republic upon the invitation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The team is constituted of the parliamentarians from the IPA CIS member nations, including the Republic of Uzbekistan, which became a rightful member of the organization, and will participate in the IPA CIS monitoring for the first time. The team also includes the IPA CIS Council Secretariat staff members and the IIMDD IPA CIS experts.

In accordance with the decision by Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ilyas Umakhanov was appointed Coordinator of the IPA CIS Observer Team.
