IPA CIS observers: elections in Tajikistan were transparent

IPA CIS Observation Mission organized a press conference in the capital Doushnbe. Mission Leader Sergey Lebedev and IPA CIS Observation Team Leader Kayrat Ischanov attended the press-conference.

Sergey Lebedev CIS Mission Leader Elections in Tajikistan were in full conformity with with the constitution and other legal instruments. They ensured the rights of free expression of will.

Tajikistan hosted 194 observers from all CIS, IPA CIS and Union State member nations. They operated on 1307 polling stations on the invitation from the national MFA. Article 4 of the Constitution provides for international observation of the presidential elections in Tajikistan.

Kayrat Ischanov IPA CIS Team Leader The atmosphere at the polling station was festive. The elections were transparent and in full conformity with the national law.

Experts also unanimously agree that the elections of 6 November were proof of the fact that the election system in Tajikistan was effectively transparent.
