IPA CIS observers meet with the ODIHR OSCE Mission Leader

IPA CIS Observation Team Leader Kairat Ischanov and the Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Alexey Sergeev met with the ODIHR OSCE Mission Leader Paraskiva Badescu.

ODIHR OSCE observers operate within a larger joint observation mission which includes PA OSCE and the Europarliament. ODIHR OSCE Mission Leader briefed the IPA CIS colleagues on the work of the Mission during long-term and short-term observation, on meetings with the presidential candidates and cooperation with the NCEC. No incidents have been reported as of this time and we believe that the course of the electoral progress is in due course, said Paraskiva Badescu.

IPA CIS observers briefed the counterparts on the work of the IPA CIS Observation Team. They noted that monitoring has been deployed at international locations, besides the national territory. Kairat Ischanov said: IPA CIS has no special comments to make as to the opening of polling stations or the course of elections.

Both sides noted good progress made by the NCEC. We share the positive assessment of the work of the NCEC, said Alexey Sergeev.
