Issues related to governmental support of civil society initiatives discussed in the Azerbaijan Republic

A seminar dedicated to the governmental support of civil society initiatives in the Azerbaijan Republic took place in Sabirabad (the Azerbaijan Republic). The seminar was organized by the Baku field office of the IIMDD IPA CIS.

The event began with the visit of the monument to the national leader Heydar Aliyev.

The seminar was attended by Nazim Ismailov, Head of the Sabirabad district legislature, Elchin Guliyev, Member of Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic, Aidyn Jafarov, Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council, Representative of Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Dmitry Gladei, Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat, Director of the IIMDD IPA CIS, Elman Imamaliyev, Director of the Baku field office of the IIMDD IPA CIS, representatives of public authorities of the Azerbaijan Republic, civil society leaders, mass media, experts and officers of the Baku field office of the IIMDD.

At the opening of the seminar Aidyn Jafarov delivered a welcome address on behalf of the Acting Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Sergey Antufiev.

Elman Imamaliyev presented a collection of the research results on governmental support of civil society initiatives in the Azerbaijan Republic based on the work carried out by the Baku field office of the IPA CIS IIMDD in 2017.

The presentations were followed by a follow-up discussion of the questions raised by the seminar participants.
