Sergey Lebedev: "Elections were democratic and reflected the reality"

CIS observers held a press-conference in Baku. Mission Leader Sergey Lebedev said that observers were operating in Azerbaijan since 10 September. The Mission was monitoring the campaign and the voting process on 9 October. After the voting was over, he said, all members of the Mission gathered in the HQ to prepare a joint statement. The Mission visited 1973 polling stations that were found to be ready for the elections.

«Observers came to a consensus that the election process has been well-organized, with well-equipped polling booths, transparent ballot boxes. Over 1000 stations were equipped with web-cameras».
Experts found that presidential elections in Azerbaijan on 9 October were open and transparent.
