The IPA CIS international observers participated in the press-conference on the results of the monitoring of the presidential elections in the Kyrghyz Republic

The press-conference of the CIS Observer Mission on the results of the monitoring of the presidential elections in the Kyrghyz Republic took place in Bishkek. Coordinator of the IPA CIS Observer Team, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Defense Victor Zavarzin attended the meeting.

Members of the CIS Observer Mission found that all the involved state bodies and bodies of local self-government, as well as the election commissions, ensured the implementation of the citizens’ right of free expression, and that modern technologies used in the voting process significantly reduced the possibility of falsification and enhanced credibility of the voting results.

As the head of Mission, CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev said that “the elections of the President of the Kyrghyz Republic were conducted in accordance with the Constitution of the country and with the Constitutional law On Elections of President of the Kyrghyz Republic and Membersof Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrghyz Republic, as well as in accordance with international standards of democratic elections”.

Coordinator of the IPA CIS Observers Team Viktor Zavarzin noted the smooth operation of the automatic ballot boxes and the equipment for voter identification and high professionalism of the election organizers, including local electoral commissions.
