The IPA CIS is choosing its Observer Team for monitoring the parliamentary election in the Republic of Belarus

The IPA CIS observer team was invited by Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Andreychenko. The observers are expected to monitor the parliamentary election to the House of Commons that will take place on 11 September 2016. Now the IPA CIS is choosing its team that will include representatives of the national parliaments of the IPA CIS member states, members of the IPA CIS Secretariat and IIMDВ experts. On the order of IPA CIS Chairperson Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Vladimir Bozhko is assigned the role of the Team Coordinator. Currently IIMDD experts are analyzing the national election legislation of the Republic of Belarus and familiarizing themselves with the elective bodies and their arrangements for the upcoming election.

The Central Commission on Elections and Referendums of the Republic of Belarus has received 33 accreditation applications from the IPA CIS.

As reported by the Central Election Commission, more than 300 international observers got the accreditation, 243 of them represent the CIS. Among those who obtained the accreditation are OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

The parliamentary election in the Republic of Belarus will be based on the plurality voting system, 110 MPs will be elected in 110 districts. Now the candidates are passing the registration procedure.
