Defense and security discussed in the Tavricheskiy Palace

The IPA CIS PC on Defense and Security Issues held its meeting in the Tavricheskiy Palace – the IPA CIS headquarters. Representatives of the National Assembly of Armenia and the National Assembly of Belarus, MPs of Kyrgyzstan, Federal Assembly of Russia, Majlisi Olu of Tajikistan, sponsors of documents and experts.

The Commission elected vice chairmen: Ali Aliev, Azerbiajani MP, and Zhanat Djarasov, Kazakhstan MP.

At its session, the Commission finalized the following draft model laws:

-        Non-Governmental Organizations;

-        Rescue Service and Status of Rescue Workers

-        Road Safety;

-        Security of Major Sport Events;

and recommendations on the Improvement and Alignment of National Laws of the CIS Related to Designating Organizations as Terrorist of Extremist. The Commission took action to submit the mentioned documents to the IPA CIS Plenary Session.

The Commission members also discussed information on drafting model laws:

-        Civil Protection;

-        Voluntary Fire Guard;

-        Private Security Services;

-        Private Investigation.
