Fifth session of Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations in the Tavricheskiy Palace

Almas Turtayev, Member of the Committee on Environment and Natural Management of Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, opened the session.

In a video statement, Arpinay Oganessyan, YIPA Coordinator, mentioned that the Assembly is becoming stronger every year.

For the current year, the Republic of Belarus assumed presidency of the Assembly.

The session elected Inessa Kleschuk (MP, Belarus) new coordinator of the YIPA.

The working agenda focused on building a web-page on parliamentary cooperation in youth policy across the CIS, as well as progress in implementation of YIPA’s legislative initiatives (draft model laws Recreation for Youth, Cooperation of Young Researchers in the CIS Countries, Student Volunteer Teams). Young parliamentarians also discussed the law on State Youth Policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The session considered changes to the Statute of the Assembly and adopted an action plan for the second half of the year.
