Commonwealth Countries Celebrate Victory Day in Great Patriotic War

Celebrations dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 take place in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The holiday is called in different ways: in the Republic of Azerbaijan ― the Day of Victory over Fascism, in the Republic of Armenia ― the Day of Victory and Peace, in the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation ― Victory Day, in the Republic of Tajikistan ― Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, in Turkmenistan ― Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 – 1945. The Republic of Uzbekistan celebrates the Day of Remembrance and Honors.
