Observer Status at IPA CIS Granted to Three International Organizations

The Asian Parliamentary Assembly, the Central American Parliament, and the International Committee of the Red Cross have become observers at the IPA CIS.

The issue of granting observer status was reviewed at the meeting of the IPA CIS Council. The report on the matter was presented by Deputy Chair of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation and Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev.

The Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council will continue to review the applications submitted by international organizations to the Assembly.

The heads of parliaments of the Commonwealth countries also adopted at the meeting an Address of the IPA CIS Council of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 and reviewed a series of issues related to election observation.
