Heads of parliamentary delegations summed up IPA CIS autumn session

The press-conference on the results of IPA CIS autumn session took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace. It was attended by Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, Speaker of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin, Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Aida Kasymalieva, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Makhmadsaid Ubaidulloev and Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva.

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko noted that the IPA CIS has become a very effective parliamentary structure in the post-Soviet space over the years and contributed to the harmonization of the legal framework of the CIS countries.

According to Valentina Matvienko, the 50th IPA CIS plenary session unanimously supported the IPA CIS Action Plan on the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Chairman of the IPA CIS Council noted that all CIS Member Nations had started active preparation for the celebration of this date.

Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich stated that the vivid discussions of the 50th IPA CIS plenary session were focused on the harmonization of national legislation in order to create conditions for the formation of Eurasian transnational corporations.

Speaker of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin emphasized that the IPA CIS has occupied a special place in the system of international parliamentary cooperation.

Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Aida Kasymalieva reported that model laws on Ecology and Social Tourism adopted during the autumn session were important for her country.

Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii stated that the Republic of Moldova would increase activity within the framework of the IPA CIS. The main direction will be the strengthening of economic, social and humanitarian cooperation.

Speaker of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Makhmadsaid Ubaidulloev extended his gratitude to the Assembly for rewarding Tajik poet Muhammad Goib with the IPA CIS Chingiz Aitmatov Prize in Literature.

Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva recalled that the Republic of Uzbekistan would chair in the CIS next year. According to the Speaker of the Senate, participation in the IPA CIS is important for her country, which returned to the parliamentary family.
