Minsk welcomes the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State

On 25 October, Minsk is hosting the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State. The agenda includes humanitarian issues (70th V-Day anniversary, 2015, the 1941 – 1945 Veteran Year in the CIS and related anniversary awards, and 2014, the Tourism Year in the Commonwealth), discussion of the draft 2020 Tourism Cooperation Strategy in the CIS, and the follow-up to the initiative the Cultural Capitals of the Commonwealth in Kazakhstan and Kirgizstan.

The meeting will also hear the report of the IPA CIS Council Chairperson Valentina Matvienko on the Implementation of the Decisions of the CIS Supreme Charter Bodies by the IPA CIS. The planned discussions also include various security issues, protection of sensitive data, and matters of financial cooperation among the CIS Member Nations.

The Heads of State will nominate Vice-Chairman, the CIS Economic Court, and deliberate over CIS awards and the 2014 presidency of the Commonwealth.

Alexey Sergeev, IPA CIS Council Secretary General, is participating in the meeting.
