Tavricheskiy Palace hosts a convention of librarians from the Commonwealth

The two-day event dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Russian National Book Repository opened in a solemn ceremony in the Doumskiy Hall of the Tavricheskiy Palace. It is sponsored by the IPA CIS, the Federal Ministry of Culture, the Russian National Library and the Librarianship Assembly of Eurasia.

IPA CIS Council SecGen read a welcoming address by the Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko to the participants of the convention. Speaking on his own behalf, he extended his congratulations to the participants on this momentous occasion. The convention was attended by the Federal Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinskiy.
