Activities of IPA CIS in Field of Public Health Discussed at International Forum in Bishkek

The Central Asia International Health Investment Forum was held at the Ala Archa State Residence. The event was held on June 26-27 with the participation of key political and financial partners at the international, regional and national levels.

The Forum, held under the patronage of the President of Kyrgyzstan, has created a high-level platform to demonstrate the value of investments in public health and a roadmap to support health and well-being in Central Asia.

Participants discussed best practices for achieving the Sustainable Development Goal 3: "Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages" throughout the region.

The high-level panel discussion was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov, WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge, Minister of Healthcare of Kazakhstan Akmaral Alnazarova, Acting First Deputy Minister of Healthcare of Kazakhstan Davron Sultanov and Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

The CIS Interparliamentary Assembly is represented at the forum by Deputy Chair of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Chair of the Committee on Social Policy Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Vinera Raimbachaeva, Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health, Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights Evgenia Vladimirova, member of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health, Director of the Eurasian Cooperation on Clinical Guidelines and Development of National Health Sergey Savashinsky.

Vinera Raimbachaeva was the lead speaker at the strategic round table on the topic “Race to the Finish Line - Time to Fulfill NCD-related SDG Commitments”.

The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, together with the Assembly, is developing a Model Law on Medical Supplies in the CIS Member Nations, which will form the national legislation of the CIS countries with a focus on an individual approach and the most effective use of medicines.

Evgenia Vladimirova informed the forum participants about the activities of the IPA CIS on the development of model legislation in the field of public health.

Sergey Savashinsky presented information on the development of draft recommendations on preclinical and clinical trials, system analysis and clinical protocols, assessment of healthcare technologies and quality of medical care, and methods for developing patient registries.

Possible cooperation within the framework of the Interstate Program of Innovation Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2030 was discussed.

The event is planned to be held on the basis of the WHO European Center for Primary Health Care in Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan).

The forum is organized by the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.
