CIS Pension Systems Discussed at CIS Executive Committee

On 2 December, the CIS Executive Committee hosted a meeting on the development of pension system in the CIS Member Nations.

The event brought together the representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the General Confederation of Trade Unions, the Interstate Statistical Committee, the Coordinating Council of the International Union “Commonwealth of Public Organizations of Veterans (Pensioners) of Independent States” and the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting was opened by Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the CIS Advisory Board on Labor, Employment and Social Security, Advisor of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Problems of the CIS Executive Committee Olga Kremskaya and moderated by Head of the Main Department of Pension Provision of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus Elena Gomorova.

On behalf of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat, Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health Evgenia Vladimirova and representatives of the Legal Department Stanislav Konyukhov and Oksana Putsko took part in the meeting via videoconferencing.

The participants presented the information on the agencies providing labor and employment services, social security, pension provision, targeted state social assistance and insurance, as well as development of voluntary accumulative pension insurance systems.

The meeting participants decided to apply to the CIS Advisory Board on Labor, Employment and Social Security with a proposal to assist in holding a roundtable in 2023 on vital activity of the elderly, sustainable increase in their living standards, strengthening links between generations.
