Experts Agreed on Draft Interstate Program of Measures to Combat Crime

On 17-18 November 2022, a meeting of the Expert Group on Harmonization of the draft Intergovernmental Program of Joint Measures to Combat Crime for 2024-2028 and the draft Decision of the Council of CIS Heads of State took place in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk.

The event was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as a number of relevant sectoral cooperation bodies of the Commonwealth.

Executive Secretary of the Joint Commission at the IPA CIS for the Harmonization of National Laws Related to Security, Countering Emerging Threats and Challenges Stanislav Korostelev and Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defense and Security Issues Alexander Borisov represented the IPA CIS Council Secretariat at the event.

The adoption of the program is connected with the need for systematic planning of cooperation between the CIS Member Nations in addressing crime, as well as coordination of the relevant authorities’ efforts.

The members of the Expert Group reviewed the comments and suggestions received, as well as finalized and agreed upon the draft documents.
