Preparations for Second International Migration Review Forum Continue

On 15 December, a regional briefing was held on preparations for the Second International Migration Review Forum (IMRF). The event was organized by the United Nations Regional Network on Migration and the International Organization for Migration.
During the briefing, it was announced that the Forum will take place from 5 to 8 May 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, in accordance with the United Nations General Assembly resolution 73/326.
Participants were informed about the progress of the preparations for the Forum. The IMRF Roadmap for 2026 was presented, including opportunities to contribute at the global, regional, and national levels.
The Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) was represented by Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights Evgenia Vladimirova.
She spoke about the work carried out by the Assembly to develop a model legislative framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of migration, as well as about the preparation of a new edition of the Concept of the Common Migration Area. It was also noted that the IPA CIS is ready to prepare a report on its activities in the field of migration for submission to the Forum
