St. Petersburg Celebrates City Day

St. Petersburg celebrates 317th anniversary of its foundation. As part of the celebrations, a solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the “Bronze Horseman” monument to the founder of the city, Peter the Great, took place on Senate Square.

The event was attended by Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko, Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Northwestern Federal District Alexander Gutsan, Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Vyacheslav Makarov.
