An IPA CIS representative took part in the international conference 70th anniversary of the UN. Initiatives of Kazakhstan and Belarus aimed at strengthening peace and security

The CIS Executive Committee held the international conference 70th anniversary in the UN. Initiatives of Kazakhstan and Belarus aimed at strengthening peace and security.

It was moderated by Yuriy Andreev, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat. The conference was attended by heads of diplomatic missions, parliamentarians and representatives of state bodies, permanent plenipotentiary representatives of the CIS states and bodies, members of the Executive Committee, representatives of the clergy, academia and public figures.

The main presentations were delivered by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus Ergali Bulegenov, Head of the International Security Department in the State Secretariat of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Basalyga and First Deputy Chairperson of the Executive Committee – of the CIS Executive Secretary Vladimir Garkun.

The presenters dwelt upon the presidential initiatives of Belarus and Kazakhstan aimed at strengthening peace and security and emphasized the importance of these initiatives. The conference participants also touched upon the international cooperation against global extremism threat.
