Countering human trafficking discussed in Moscow

On 10-11 February, Moscow hosts a symposium Increasing the Efficiency of Cooperation in the CIS in Countering Human Trafficking.

The Conference will be attended by representatives by law enforcement and other competent authorities of the CIS, CIS statutory bodies and institutions of sectoral cooperation, international organizations and the diplomatic corps. IPA CIS is represented by the Secretary of the Joint Commission at the IPA CIS for the Harmonization of National Laws Related to Security, Countering Emerging Threats and Challenges Stanislav Korostelev. Speaking at the conference, he said that the IPA CIS has adopted a number of instruments related to human trafficking and protecting the victims of human trafficking as a follow-up to the implementation of the CIS Plan of Cooperation for 2007-2010 and 2014-2018.

The Conference is expected to adopt an outcome document – recommendations to be submitted to relevant national authorities and sectoral bodies of the CIS.
