IPA CIS Council Representatives are taking part in the 140th IPU Assembly in Doha

On 6–10 April, the 140th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, one of the most authoritative global parliamentary associations, is taking place in the State of Qatar (Doha). Chair of the IPA CIS PC on Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Ecology, Member of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Committee on the Fuel and Energy Complex Regulation and Subsoil Use Baktybek Turusbekov and Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrghyz Republic Nurbek Satvaldiev.

More than two thousand legislators, including 80 heads of parliaments from more than 160 countries, are taking part in the 140th IPU Assembly. This year, the main issue of the agenda is “Parliaments as platforms to enhance education for peace, security and the rule of law”.

The IPA CIS joined the IPU as an associate member in 2016 and the 137th IPU Assembly took place in Tavrichesky Palace on 14-18 October 2017. This forum was the most representative in the history of the Union.
