Living Memories Tour in the capital of the Russian Federation

The flare of the Eternal Flame was taken from War Memorial at the commemorative ceremony in Poklonnaya Hill. Veterans, members of the Federation Council, guest parliamentarians took part in the ceremony. They laid wreaths and flowers to pay tribute to the fallen. 

In a special container, the flare will be delivered to St. Petersburg as early as this evening. On 16 April the IPA CIS will host the final ceremony of the Tour.

Alexey Sergeev, IPA CIS Council Secretary General, spoke about the concept of the tour – to collect flares of the Eternal Flame from all the Commonwealth capital to be delivered to the IPA CIS headquarters in St. Petersburg for a final ceremony to commemorate the 70th Victory Anniversary. Through its model laws Lasting Tribute to the Defenders of the Nation and Cultivating Patriotic Element and Prohibiting the Revival of Nazism and Glorification of the Nazi Criminals and their Henchmen, the IPA CIS contributes to keeping the memories of war and building awareness of future generations, he added.
