PA CE is hosting its Autumn Session in Strasbourg

The Session features discussion on the outcomes of parliamentary elections in Albania, issues of food security, OECD activity in 2012-2013, improvement of the Assembly’s monitoring procedures, functioning of democratic institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, children’s rights to physical integrity.
According to Head of Russian delegation Alexey Pushkov, the address by Speaker of the State Douma of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin will be a cornerstone of the Autumn Session.
Referring to the Agenda, PA CE President Jean-Claude Mignon said that at his meeting with Sergey Naryshkin he would openly express his satisfaction with Russia’s Syrian initiative and appreciation of UN Security Council’s effort to adopt a resolution that ensured prevention of the military intervention in the conflict.
On 3 October 2013, the Session will feature urgent debate on resolving efforts in Syria. Moreover, PA CE is planning to reform monitoring procedures, and present speeches presidents of Armenia and Serbia Serzh Sargsyan and Tomislav Nikolic, as well as the report by Council of Europe SG Thorbjorn Jagland.
Also, resolutions on OECD report, changes to CE monitoring procedure, national security and access to information are expected to follow during the Session.
The Session will close on 4 October.
