Sergey Antufiev spoke about the work plan of the IPA CIS for 2018 in a TV show

Acting Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council, Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Sergey Antufiev spoke for “Doslovno” TV show by MIR TV channel. He spoke with the moderator Anastasia Glebova about the plans of the IPA CIS for 2018 and the role of the organization in the political life of the Member Nations of the Commonwealth.

“2017 was an anniversary year. The IPA CIS and the broadcasting company MIR both celebrated their 25th anniversary. We came a long way during these 25 years. Firstly, I would like to mention our model law-making efforts. To draft model laws, we involve specialists, scientists, MPs of the CIS national parliaments. For 25 years the IPA CIS has become the platform where CIS national MPs can discuss relevant issues of the CIS,” said the IPA CIS Council Acting Secretary General drawing last year's outcomes.

“We have a wide range of plans for 2018. This year is declared the Year of Culture in the countries of the Commonwealth which is a priority of our activities. In 2018 the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum, an event of particular importance for us, will take place. The preparation of the Forum is led by Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko.

The IPA CIS is the co-organizer of the Forum along with the Federation Council, therefore we have a lot of housekeeping work to do. More than 1000 delegates are expected to visit the Forum. It will take place on 20-21 September 2018. I am confident that it will be an important political event for everyone,” noted Sergey Antufiev.
