Solemn ceremony at the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery

IPA CIS delegation led by Alexey Sergeev, Secretary General, included the representatives of the IPA CIS Member Nations and senior staff of the Secretariat. They took part in a solemn ceremony on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the beginning of the War.
Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery is a national shrine to the immense labor and effort of the people who fought against Fascism. Every year people come to lay wreaths and flowers to mark special dates in the national and city’s history: on 22 June, the first day of the War, on 8 September, the first day of the Leningrad Siege, on 27 January, when the Siege was lifted, and on 8 May – the last day of the War.
