Kyrgyz Republic Celebrates Constitution Day

Today the Kyrgyz Republic celebrates the Constitution Day. The main law of the country was adopted in 1993. Over the years of independence the Constitution has been changed 12 times. The latest version was put to a national referendum on 11 April 2021.
Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev congratulated the Kyrgyzstanis on the holiday.
He noted that the Constitution helped lay the foundations of the state, establish a system of checks and balances, and determine the main direction of the country’s development.
“The Constitution, based on democratic principles, but also including national values, is successfully applied. Political and legal reforms are being implemented within the framework of the main law, active measures are being taken in the socio-economic field” – the Speaker’s congratulation says.
