NIEC to Become First International Eco-Event After Quarantine

A working meeting on the preparation of the 9th Nevsky International Ecological Congress to be held in May 2021 in the IPA CIS headquarters in St. Petersburg took place today chaired by Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Yatskin.

The meeting was attended by Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy, Russian senators, representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Roskongress Foundation, and the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare.

Andrey Yatskin stressed that the NIEC would become one of the first international discussion platforms to discuss the environmental agenda after a long break caused by the pandemic.

Dmitriy Kobitskiy told the participants that the infrastructure of the Tavricheskiy Palace was set for holding the events of the Congress. He also noted that the issues of environmental safety and rational use of natural resources were extremely important for all the IPA CIS Member Nations, and expressed confidence that the NIEC program would be aimed at discussing specific issues in the field of environmental protection in the countries.
