Aibek Dadebay Elected Chair of Kuryltai of Kazakhstan

Aibek Dadebay was elected Chair of the Kuryltai of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev nominated him for the position of Chair of Parliament.

Aibek Dadebay began his career in 2001 as a lecturer at the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages. From 2008 to 2011, he worked in the Department of Interparliamentary Relations and International Cooperation of the Office of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2011 to 2013, he represented Kazakhstan at the United Nations as an Attaché and Third Secretary.

From 2013 to 2019, he held senior positions in the Secretariat of the Chair of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since 2019, he worked in the Office and Administrative Department of the President of Kazakhstan. From 2024 to 2026, he headed the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan. On 7 May 2026, Aibek Dadebay was elected Chair of the Ädilet party.

Nurlan Beknazarov, Daniya Yespayeva and Dinara Zakiyeva were elected Deputy Chairs of the Kuryltai.

Eight standing committees have been established within the Kuryltai.

Serik Yegizbayev was elected Chair of the Committee on Agricultural Affairs, Ecology and Natural Resources. Unzila Shapak will head the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, the Judicial System and Law Enforcement Agencies. Marat Kozhayev will head the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security.

Amirbek Ospanbekov was elected Chair of the Committee on Regional and Infrastructure Development; Askhat Aimagambetov – Chair of the Committee on Social and Cultural Development; Olga Perepechina – Chair of the Committee on Finance and Budget; Darkhan Akhmediyev – Chair of the Committee on Digitalization, Innovation and Science; and Natalya Godunova – Chair of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Energy.
