IPA CIS Headquarters Hosts Meeting with Nepalese Parliamentary Delegation

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy met with the delegation of the National Assembly of the Federal Parliament of Nepal headed by Chair of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina. The sides discussed issues relating to the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Dmitriy Kobitskiy told the guests about the main activities of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, noting that the experience and authority accumulated by it allow promoting the development of modern international law.
The Assembly aims at developing relations with foreign partners. “We see an increased interest towards activating joint work with the IPA CIS from such international organizations as the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States, the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, the Latin American, Central American and Pan African Parliaments”, noted Dmitriy Kobitskiy.
Ganesh Prasad Timilsin noted that the work of the IPA CIS on the development of economic, cultural and humanitarian relations in the region is of great respect. According to the Chair of the National Assembly, cooperation between Nepal and the CIS countries within the framework of the International Tourism Forum Travel Hub “Commonwealth” is considered productive.
The Chair informed the participants about his visit to Moscow the day before, his meeting with the Speakers of both Houses of the Russian Parliament Valentina Matvienko and Vyacheslav Volodin and the signed bilateral documents.
After the meeting, Nepalese MPs were given a tour of the Tavricheskiy Palace where the Russian State Duma began its work more than 100 years ago and where the parliamentary cooperation of the CIS countries has been developing for more than 30 years.
