IPA CIS International Observers Conduct Long-Term Monitoring of Russia’s Parliamentary Elections

The IPA CIS monitoring group is working in the Leningrad Region. The observers visited Vyborg, Gatchina and Kirovsk, where they met with the chairs of election commissions and familiarised themselves with the work of the “InformUIK” project.
The project involves members of precinct election commissions conducting door-to-door visits to voters to provide information about the elections of members of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, available voting options, the operation of polling stations and other relevant matters. Using a tablet with a mobile application, they also verify and update voter lists.
The monitoring group includes Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of National Assembly of Republic of Belarus Sergey Khomenko, Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of Parliament of Republic of Kazakhstan Ashat Mukashev and Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdukhalil Gafurzoda.
