Parliament of Moldova Facilitated COVID-19 Vaccines Procurement

The MPs of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova adopted on 12 March the law facilitating the state procurement of the coronavirus vaccines.
Chair of the Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance Petru Burduja noted the acceleration of the spread of COVID-19 and the need to procure the vaccine as soon as possible, stressing that the ordinary procurement organization would delay the mass immunization of population.
The MPs also adopted the Declaration on Political Armistice in the Face of Humanitarian Crisis Caused by the Pandemic in the Republic of Moldova. The document features the following priorities: immunization of 70% of the population within next 12 months, unblocking foreign assistance, measures to support business environment, low-income groups and pensioners, preservation of employment, increasing the capacity of medical and education system, renewed reforms in the field of justice, economy and government management.
