Valentina Matvienko: Feat of Inhabitants of Besieged Leningrad is Evidence of True Patriotism

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko made an appeal in connection with the anniversary of the beginning of the Siege of Leningrad.

In her appeal, she noted the resilience and courage of the inhabitants of the besieged Leningrad, as well as their selfless struggle for the freedom and independence of the country. Valentina Matvienko also stressed that decades had passed since the end of the bloodiest war, but no one and nothing was forgotten. She thanked the veterans and all who survived and overcame the horror of the Siege.
