Almost all CIS countries celebrate 1 May

Most of the IPA CIS member states celebrate the 1st of May. In some of the countries it is a public holiday, however, the name of the holiday differs in different countries.

It is known as a Labour Day in the Republic of Armenia and the Labour Holiday in the Republic of Belarus and in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Republic of Kazakhstan celebrates National Unity Day, and the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Tajikistan and Ukraine celebrate International Worker’s Day. The 1st of May in Russia is Spring and Labour Day.

On this day traditionally cities and towns organize demonstrations, concerts and outdoor festivities.
