Commonwealth marks the spring solstice

The day is celebrated as the advent of the spring solstice which marks the beginning of a new year. Novruz is designated as an item in the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage. The United Nations adopted a resolution declaring the 21 of March the International day of Novruz.
