Jogorku Kenesh adopts over 1000 laws in the recent 5 years

In his comment on the results of the work of Jogorku Kenesh during the recent 5 years, Speaker Asylbek Zheenbekov mentioned that the V assembly comprehensively fulfilled its mandate. The parliament held 374 sessions and debated 1377 acts, with 1140 approved and 1018 signed by the President. He stressed the importance of these laws for building a better constitutional framework and improving the life of the people through public reforms and economic growth.
Between 2010 and 2015 Jogorku Kenesh issued 1301 decrees, with 1178 implemented and 123 in the progress of implementation. At the same time the V assembly established 45 provisional parliamentary commissions.
He also mentioned the high dynamics of interparliamentary exchanges within the CIS exemplified by official visits of the MPs to Kazakhstan and Russia. “Contribution of the Kyrgyz MPs in the work of interparliamentary bodies was also significant”, he added.
