Moldova celebrates National Language Day

The Republic of Moldova celebrates Limba Noastra (meaning ‘Our Language’), the National Language Day.

In 1989 that was the day when the Cyrillic was replaced with the Latin alphabet. The new alphabet is also enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova.

On 31 August, the country holds numerous festivals, exhibitions and other events.
