New Year celebrated across the CIS

New Year’s Eve is a holiday in Armenia. Azerbaijan celebrates 1 and 2 January. Other CIS countries mark one of the two or both as official holidays. One country stands out, the Russian Federation where the entire first week of the new year is one long stretch of holidays.
