Press-conference of the President of Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic

Asilbek Zheenbekov told the journalists about the results of Parliament’s work: “The Fifth session saw 76 meetings of Zhogorku Kenesh with a total of 355 bills considered, of which 253 were adopted”.

He mentioned that Zhogorku Kenesh adopted a range of acts crucial for all Kyrgyz industries and ratified international agreements and treaties.

Zhogorku Kenesh performed actively in the fields of international cooperation, culture and socio-economic sector.

Asilbek Zheenbekov noted that on 23 November 2012 Zhogorku Kenesh and the IPA CIS jointly held the international conference The world of Chingiz Aytmatov: integration and dialogue of cultures. The Conference featured the opening of a bronze bust to the renowned writer. Moreover, the IPA CIS established the Chingiz Aytmatov Prize. Every year a prize of 30 thousand US dollars will go to the best fiction writers.
