Russian parliamentarians celebrate the Day of Parliamentarianism

The date wasn’t chosen randomly: on this day in 1906 the First Russian State Duma began its work. During all four convocations the members of the State Duma of the Russian Empire sit in St. Petersburg, where they were provided with one of the most beautiful buildings – the Tavricheskiy Palace.

This memorable date as the Day of Russian Parliamentarianism was established in order to promote the activities of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the regional legislative bodies of the state power of the Russian Federation subjects.
