The Republic of Azerbaijan is celebrating the Independence Day

Today Azerbaijan is celebrating the 24th anniversary of its independence. On 30 August 1991 at the special session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan the Declaration of Independence was adopted.
In May 1992, Milli Majlis approved the national anthem, flag, and the national emblem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
