CIS Experts Discussed Cooperation in Veterinary Medicine

On 29 October 2020, the 42nd meeting of the of the Intergovernmental Council for Cooperation in the Field of Veterinary Medicine, organized by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Veterinary and Livestock Development, was held via videoconferencing.

According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the meeting was attended by the heads and plenipotentiary representatives of the state veterinary services of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Moldova, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the Council members reported on the epizootic situation in the CIS member nations in the context of the pandemic and decided to exchange information on measures taken to minimize the negative consequences caused by COVID-19.

Also, the meeting addressed the comments on the draft documents significant for the CIS veterinary services. In addition, the Council members adopted the Provision for the Working Group on Electronic Veterinary Certification in the CIS.

Chairperson of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Veterinary and Livestock Development Bakhromjon Norkobilov was elected Chairperson of the Council.
