Regulation of CIS Migration Processes to Be Discussed at St. Petersburg Labour Forum

Within the framework of the VII St. Petersburg Labour Forum, a conference “Regulation of International Migration Processes on the Territory of the CIS Member Nations” will be held. Parliamentarians and experts will discuss new forms of organized recruitment and the common CIS labour market.

The conference will be held on 15 March at the IPA CIS headquarters – the Tavricheskiy Palace, which will traditionally become one of the forum venues.

The upcoming conference will pay special attention to providing labor resources for the post-pandemic economy, reducing the staff shortage, creating new forms of organized recruitment, simplifying the provision of public services in the field of labor migration and forming a common CIS labor market. Parliamentarians, representatives of relevant CIS ministries and agencies, academia, politicians, representatives of international organizations will discuss the prospects for improving the national legislation of the Commonwealth countries in the migration sphere.

The participants will share their views on attracting sought-after foreign professionals, creating an infrastructure for quality pre-immigration training, and ensuring that the professions and qualifications of labor migrants meet the requirements of the labor market.

Among other important topics there are also the use of digital information systems in organized labour migration, increasing labour productivity, ensuring a reasonable balance between the needs for labour resources and maintaining the necessary security level.

The forum will present a professional recognition award “The Best Employer of the Year in the Field of Labor Migration”, established by the committees for labor and employment of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

The St. Petersburg International Labour Forum will be held on 15-17 March and co-organized by the IPA CIS, the Government of St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg State University and the ExpoForum-International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Forum events are held in the format of plenary sessions, meetings, conferences, panel discussions, sections, round tables, poster sessions, master classes and workshops. The related events will include the Youth International Labour Forum and the exhibition “Human Resources. Management. Security”.
