Researchers Spoke About Environmental Monitoring Importance in Commonwealth

On 20 October 2020, the TASS hosted an online press conference dedicated to the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Problems of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring in the CIS”, which took place on 22-24 October 2020 in the Tavricheskiy Palace.

The press conference was attended by Rector of the Russian State Hydrometeorological University Valery Mikheev, Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat, Director of the IIMDD IPA CIS Ivan Mushket, Vice-Rector for Development of the Russian State Hydrometeorological University Denis Leontyev, Professor of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan of Almaty Region Sarkytbek Moldabaev and Professor of the Department of Meteorological Forecasts of the Russian State Hydrometeorological University Sergey Smyshlyaev.

Opening the press conference, Valery Mikheev noted the relevance of the upcoming event, its scale and the significance of the issues discussed. He informed that more than 500 representatives of universities and other educational institutions from eight CIS countries had submitted applications for participation.

Ivan Mushket reminded the colleagues that rulemaking in the field of environmental protection in one of the main areas of the IPA CIS activities. The IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Ecology prepares model laws on environmental problems and environmental protection.
