International forum “Dialogue of Languages and Cultures in CIS and SCO countries in the 21st century” ended its work in Bishkek

The 8th international forum “Dialogue of Languages and Cultures in CIS and SCO countries in the 21st century” ended its work in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The forum was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the CIS Humanitarian Action Trust Fund, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Basic Organization on Languages and Culture of the CIS Member States, Bishkek Humanities University (BHU) and Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU).

The forum was opened by Abdylda Musaev, Rector of the BHU, Saliddin Kaldybayev, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Professor Innara Guseinova, Vice-Rector of the MSLU.

The Forum brought together more than 60 professors and students form the CIS and SCO countries.

The participants discussed the issues related to multilingualism, multiculturalism and multi-religious reality in educational and scientific environment, as well as the issues related to the interaction of languages and cultures in today’s world. In addition, the master-classes for young literary translators and teachers in translation, as well as for students and CIS languages teachers were held during the forum.
