Meeting of Council of CIS Heads of Government Takes Place in Moscow

The meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government was held in Skolkovo Technopark in Moscow.

In the smaller session of the Council the parties exchanged views on relevant issues of economic cooperation across the CIS.

A wide range of documents was adopted at the meeting, including the CIS Concept of Cooperation in Digital Development of Society and the Plan of Priority Measures for its Implementation. These documents were designed to build a digital environment across the CIS create conditions for the integration of the modern information and communication infrastructure and the new technologies, increase the efficiency of data exchange and the implementation of innovative projects.

The Heads of Government also approved the CIS Strategy on Information Security. The Strategy is based on the fundamental documents in the field of national and information security previously adopted by the CIS countries. The provisions of the Strategy will be taken into account by the relevant CIS ministries and agencies in the state regulation and law-making activities in the field of information security.

The Heads of Government also signed the Cooperation Agreement on Creation and Application of Composition Standard Samples and Substances and Materials Properties, the decisions on the CIS Package of Measures to Prevent and Control Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease until 2025, on the activities of the CIS antitrust regulation authorities , the CIS Plan of Radio Navigation Development for 2019–2024, the implementation of the Intergovernmental Trust Program on Reclamation of the Territories of the States Exposed to Uranium Mining Operations in 2018, the continuation of tracing of soldiers missing during the war in Afghanistan in 1979–1989, search for location of graves, exhumation, identification of remains and reburial in their home countries, , the holding the CIS Games, and the Protocol on Amendments to the CIS Cooperation Agreement on Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors of 30 November 2000.The next meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government will be held in Tashkent on 29May 2020 under the presidency of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
