Range of countries participating at the V Road Safety Congress expanding daily

To this date, the list of participants of the V International Congress Road Safety for the Safety of Life to held in St. Petersburg on 25-26 September 2014, has included Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, and Morocco.

At the session of the Organizing Committee in Moscow on 27 June, Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council, noted that the Congress will have youth as its overarching theme.

Considering that young people are most often killed and injured in road accidents, “road safety issues cannot be effectively addressed without due training and raising awareness of the youth”, said Madam Chairperson. She also stressed the need to involve the youth in raising the profile of road safety and to consider establishing a common resource center to coordinate actions of driving schools.

Unlike in previous years, the current Congress will be held both at the IPA CIS headquarters and at Lenexpo Congress Facility.
