Regular meeting of the CIS Economic Policies Commission at the CIS Economic Council

The session brought together plenipotentiary representatives of the CIS to the Commission, experts of intra-CIS bodies and administrative authorities of the CIS nations.

The agenda of the session included a number of economic integration issues. In particular, it considered the drafts of the CIS Mining Cooperation Agreement, the Agreement on Mutual Recognition and Conformity of Agencies, 2025 CIS Strategy of Building and Development of Information Society, 2016-2020 First-Stage Plan of Activities on the Implementation of the Key CIS Cooperation Vectors in the Field of Forestry and Timber Industry for the Period before 2025.

The participants also updated the Plan of Priority Actions to Implement the CIS Energy Cooperation Agreement and discussed the progress on the follow-up of 2020 Priority Cooperation Measures in the Field of Transport, the Agreement on the Prevention and Elimination of Wild Fires in Border Areas of the CIS Countries dated 31 May 2013, and the Agreement on the Exchange of Research and Technical Information by Governments of 30 May 2014.

The session considered a number of budgetary and financial issues. When the comments of the session are reflected in the debated documents, the drafts will be submitted for the approval by the CIS Economic Council.

The next regular session is expected to be held on 24 March.
