Regular meeting of the Economic Policies Commission at the CIS Economic Council took place in Moscow

On 25 July, the regular meeting of the Economic Policies Commission at the CIS Economic Council took place in Moscow. It was presided by Chair of the Commission, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan at the Commission, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Russian Federation Imomuddin Sattorov.
The meeting was attended by Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member States at the Commission and officials from several CIS ministries, agencies and bodies of sectoral cooperation.
The participants of the meeting discussed the implementation of the provisions of the Free Trade Agreement and the CIS Strategy on Development of Information Society.
The session focused on the implementation of 2020 CIS Intergovernmental Program of Innovative Cooperation and the Intergovernmental Trust Program on Reclamation of the Territories of the States Exposed to Uranium Mining Operations.
The participants were briefed on the preparation of 2020 population censuses in the CIS countries.
In addition, they considered a range of financial and economic issues, including those related to the improvement of the CIS regulatory framework in the field of preparation and implementation of the Commonwealth's budget.
The meeting decided on the use of funds for building and development of the CIS Unified Anti-Air Defense System and facilitating the activity of the Coordination Committee on Air Defense at the Council of the CIS Defense Ministers in 2017, as well as the funding of building and development of the CIS Unified Air Defense System in 2019.
